Football is about taking chances and scoring more goals than the opposition. The story here was that we played some great stuff but could only hit the net on one occasion. Willenhall took the lead after 20 mins only for Buckby to respond within 10 mins when a great 1-2 between Kofi and Matt Johnson ended with a great strike from Johnson, 1-1 at half time.
Buckby created chance after chance in the second half with some fast breaks down both flanks. Ethan Proud and Alex Brunero had the best chances but could not make it count. Then, midway through the half we were punished as Ben slipped and our defence failed to clear and as Jack came out he decided to use his legs rather than his hands and unfortuneately the loose ball fell in front of an open goal and it was an easy task for the Willenhall player to tap home. We kept attacking but Kofi was unlucky not to get away on many occasions.
So we lost 2 1 to a big competitive Willenhall side who said after "we are the best side they have played for 1.5 years". This was such an improvement on the previous Burton game when we did not turn up. Its a cruel game when you dominate but lose.
Our next game on saturday at Pelsall Villa will hopefully see us playing very well but hitting the net on more occasions.
MOM Hussien Kofi, a real threat for 80 minutes.
